Provided analysis of parks and open space, social services and public safety in the University District in terms of current needs and opportunities for improvement. Developed a partnership agreement between the City of Seattle, King County and the Port of Seattle to provide funding for infrastructure to enable the Immunex Corporation to build a $625 million biotechnology campus in Seattle’s Interbay waterfront neighborhood (1994-1997).
Results: Amgen built the 750,000 square foot state-of-the-art research and development facility, housing more than 750 scientists, researchers and support staff in Seattle rather than at an alternative suburban location. The facility is the largest of its kind in the Pacific Northwest.
