Client: The Wilderness Society
Assisted the society to develop a comprehensive plan for enhancing the preservation and protection of the North Cascades, especially the designated wilderness areas and locations that could be so designated, in a way that both enhances recreational opportunities and the economic development of local communities. Interviewed key stakeholders, and prepared a report on issues and opportunities. Developed strategic options and conducted two staff workshops. (2009 – 2011)
Results: The society adopted the recommendations, received a $1 million challenge grant, and is carrying out specific projects in line with the report’s recommendations. View link [1].
