Served as facilitator for a 50-member Community Advisory Committee appointed by Seattle’s mayor to assist in the search for a new Parks and Recreation Superintendent. Developed meeting agendas, facilitated meetings and provided summaries; reviewed and summarized public comments to an online survey. The new Superintendent is the first to lead the department under the new Metropolitan Park District, which will provide ongoing funding for Seattle’s system of parks, recreation facilities and natural areas. Results: The search firm and selection committee used the criteria the Advisory Committee developed to guide the search and interviewing process [1]. The new Parks Superintendent assumed the position in June 2015.
