Planned and facilitated a citywide education summit [1] process and an advisory group to address the opportunity gap and disparities for public school students. Assisted in planning 19 community meetings and an online survey that led up to a citywide summit event, and prepared a summary and analysis [2] of the themes emerging from the input of the nearly 1,000 participants. The Advisory Group developed a set of 18 recommendations for the Mayor. (2015 – 2016)
Results: The City Council unanimously adopted the Seattle Education Action Plan [3] in June 2017. The plan guides City investments toward eliminating opportunity gaps in Seattle’s education system, and focuses effort on 10 of the Advisory Group’s recommendations.
