Client: City of Seattle
Served as facilitator of a 35-member Community Advisory Committee appointed by Seattle’s mayor to assist in the search for a new director of the city’s Department of Transportation. Cedar River Group developed meeting agendas, analyzed 450 comments to an online survey from members of the public, assisted with a discussion at a citywide neighborhood summit, and facilitated the committee’s process of developing selection criteria for the SDOT Director candidate. SDOT is responsible for Seattle’s multimodal transportation system, including streets, bridges, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, a growing streetcar network, seawalls and street trees. (2014)
Results: The Advisory Committee agreed on a set of selection criteria, which then became the basis for the SDOT Director position announcement and executive search process. The new SDOT Director was named in July 2015. View link
