Client: Washington Wildlife and Recreation Coalition
Facilitated a strategic planning process as the Coalition faced the challenges of increasing population density, escalating costs of acquiring land and increased demand on funding sources. Engaged the Board in discussion of key questions about the Coalition’s future; conducted interviews with internal and external stakeholders; created a white paper on strategic options based on the issues and ideas that emerged, and led a Board workshop on these choices. Provided a written summary of the workshop and the chosen strategic direction; assisted staff in drafting an implementation plan for the Board’s ratification. (2007 & 2009)
Results: The WWRC Board adopted the strategic plan and obtained $140 million in state funding for open space preservation.
